Day 01:
Begin your Everest Base Camp Adventure by arriving in Kathmandu (1,320m/4,330ft). Our guide and friendly representative will welcome you at the airport and take you to a cozy 3-star hotel in the lively city. Spend the night here, exploring Kathmandu and gearing up for the incredible journey ahead, guided by our experienced experts who prioritize your safety and comfort.

Day 02:
Discover the cultural wonders of Kathmandu and prepare for your trek (1,320m/4,330ft). Explore UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa (the Monkey Temple), and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Marvel at daily rituals, stunning architecture, and the peaceful ambiance of these sacred sites. After a day of exploration, return to your hotel to appreciate the cultural heritage of Kathmandu.

Day 03:
Take a 35-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2,610m/8,562ft). Enjoy breathtaking views of the changing landscape during the flight. Upon landing in Lukla, start your trek to Phakding through enchanting forests on a well-established trail. Conclude the day with a comfortable overnight stay in a tea house or lodge in Phakding.

Day 04:
Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,443m/11,299ft). Enjoy a picturesque trek through lush pine and cedar forests, reaching the charming village of Monjo. Enter the Sagarmatha National Park, known for its diverse flora and fauna. Continue your uphill trek to Namche, with breathtaking views of Kusum Khangkaru (6,367m/20,889ft). Relax at a cozy guesthouse in Namche for an overnight stay.

Day 05:
Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar (3,443m/11,299ft). Explore the vibrant village and enjoy panoramic views of Thamserku Peak and Kongde Ri Himal. Visit the Sherpa Culture Museum, Everest Photo Gallery, or the Syangboche airstrip for panoramic mountain views. Alternatively, venture to the Everest View Hotel, the world's highest-located hotel. Return to your comfortable lodge for a peaceful overnight stay.

Day 06:
Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,875m/12,713ft). Follow the scenic trail alongside the Dudh Koshi River, reaching the picturesque village of Tengboche. Enjoy stunning views of Ama Dablam (6,856m/22,494ft) and the iconic Tengboche Monastery, the largest in the region. Experience warm hospitality, local cuisine, and the natural wonders of Tengboche during your overnight stay.

Arrive in Dingboche, nestled at the base of the awe-inspiring Nangkartshang Peak (5,616m/18,425ft). Relax and recharge at a comfortable guesthouse in Dingboche, surrounded by stunning beauty.

Day 08:
Acclimatization Day in Dingboche (4,410m/14,469ft). Explore the traditional village and take a relaxing hike to Nangkartshang for panoramic views of the Imja Valley and the Everest range. After a day of exploration, relax at one of Dingboche's charming guesthouses for a rejuvenating night's rest.

Day 09:
Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,910m/16,109ft). Embark on an unforgettable journey from Dingboche, following the trail alongside the Imja River towards Lobuche. Enjoy a gentle hike, taking in the natural beauty, before resting at a comfortable guesthouse in Lobuche.

Day 10:
Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep - Everest Base Camp.

 (5,364m/17,598ft) and back to Gorakshep (5,140m/16,864ft). Experience the thrill of a lifetime trekking to the base camp of Mount Everest. Enjoy a gentle walk with stunning views overlooking the Khumbu glacier from Lobuche to Gorakshep. Savor breathtaking views of the Khumbu icefall and towering mountains at the base camp before returning to Gorakshep for an overnight stay.

Day 11:
Hike to Kala Patthar (5,555m/18,225ft) and Trek to Pheriche (4,240m/13,911ft). Embark on one of the most highly anticipated days of your Everest Base Camp trek. Enjoy breathtaking 360-degree views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku from Kala Patthar. After taking in the highlights, retrace your steps back to Pheriche and spend the night at a cozy guesthouse, surrounded by stunning Himalayan views.

Day 12:
Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3,443m/11,299ft). Experience the awe-inspiring beauty of the Himalayan forest and the majestic peaks of Mount Everest as you journey through Pheriche. Follow the familiar trail back to Namche Bazaar, crossing the Imja River and several suspension bridges. After an exhilarating day, relax and recharge at a cozy guesthouse in Namche for a peaceful overnight stay.

Day 13:
Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,850m/9,350ft). After a fulfilling trek from Namche, return to Lukla via Monjo and exit the Sagarmatha National Park. The trek downhill is relatively easier, allowing you to relish the breathtaking mountain views. Upon arrival in Lukla, indulge in local cuisine and celebrate the successful completion of your trek. The eateries in Lukla offer an authentic taste of Nepal, creating a unique and memorable experience. After a satisfying meal, unwind and reflect on the journey's highlights.

Day 14:
Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu (1,320m/4,330ft), a 35-minute flight, followed by a Farewell Dinner. After a thrilling trek in the majestic Himalayas, return to Kathmandu with a scenic flight from Lukla. Spend the day at your leisure, indulging in some well-deserved retail therapy or relaxation. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner hosted to celebrate the successful completion of your trek. After a delightful evening of good food, company, and memories, retire to your comfortable accommodation for the night.

Day 15:
Departure Day. To ensure a smooth and hassle-free departure, you will be transported to the airport approximately three hours before your scheduled flight. This will give you ample time to check in, go through security, and make any last-minute arrangements before boarding your flight.

Your Complete Guide: What You Need To Bring With You

Getting ready for the Everest Base Camp Trek? We know, packing can be a challenge, but fear not! We, at Hajar Mountain Adventures, have got your back. We've put together a comprehensive list of everything you'll need for the trek of a lifetime.

 

Remember, this list is a guide, not a rulebook. Tailor it to your preferences and needs.

 

Personal Clothing:
1. Base Layers: Merino wool is our go-to for moisture-wicking and affordability.
2. Insulation Layer: Opt for a Fleece Jacket, for warmth without the weight.
3. Outer Layer: Invest in a quality waterproof jacket and trousers for higher altitudes.

4. Hiking Clothes: Don't forget trekking trousers, shorts, and 5-6 breathable, quick-drying shirts.

5. Waterproof Gear: Always be prepared for rain with a good Gore-Tex jacket and trousers.

6. Underwear: 5 pairs of sports wicking and breathable, underwear and 2 sports bras for women.
7. Hat: A wide-brim trekking hat for sun protection.
8. Beanie: Keep warm at night or near Everest Base Camp.

9. Neck Gaiter: Essential for warmth and avoiding the Khumbu cough.
10. Inner Gloves: Light gloves for moderate temperatures and intricate tasks.

11. Outer Insulated Gloves: Waterproof, Mid-weight fleeced gloves for sub-zero temperatures.
12. Hiking Boots: Prioritize comfort over brand, ensuring a good fit for trekking.

13. Trekking Shoes/Sandals: Lightweight shoes for tea houses.

14. Hiking Socks: 5-6 pairs of breathable, moisture-wicking socks.

15. Thermal Socks: For colder conditions, near or at Base Camp.

16. Gaiters: Optional but useful to prevent debris from entering boots, or in wet conditions. 

17. Warm jacket: For those cold evenings as you higher up, down, or synthetic to keep you toasty.

 

Bags and Backpacks:
18.  Duffel Bag 80L: Water-resistant, durable, and lockable for portered treks. MAXIMUM 15KG

19. Daypack 25/35L: Small pack for extra clothing, water, and food plus any essentials during the trek. Ensure the daypack has a rain cover. MAXIMUM 10KG.

Sleeping Gear:
20. Sleeping Bag: A warm 4-season bag rated for at least -10°C.

21. Sleeping Bag Liner: A mummy-shaped liner for extra warmth

Passport/Money:
1. Passport: Don't forget travel documents and visa.

2. Money: Carry around $200 cash, for any additional items such as drinks or souvenirs you buy along the trek, as well as guide and porter tips as there are no ATMs on the trek. Tips are approximately $150/guide and $100/porter split between the whole group.

 

Insurance:
1. Travel Insurance: Essential for trekking up to 6,000m, including helicopter evacuation. e.g. World Nomads

 

Medications and Toiletries:
1. Water Purification Tablets: Ensure all water is purified.

2. Isotonic Powder: Replenish lost electrolytes.

3. Diamox: Prevent altitude sickness; consult your doctor.

4. Common Medications: Paracetamol, Ibruprofen, Imodium.

5. Sunscreen: Minimum SPF 30 sunscreen and UV-rated lip balm.

6. Baby Wipes: For quick cleaning and refreshment.

7. Hand Sanitizer: For a quick wash before eating.

8. Toiletries: Essentials and 2 rolls of toilet paper.
