Service Description

This is a true classic Wadi/Canyon on the Jebel Jais Mountain. No 4x4 needed. Parking available at the start and finish. After a short hike to the start of the Wadi/Canyon, you will then scramble down and through the main wadi to where the abseils start. These are progressive in nature and increase in height each time. There are several abseils to tackle as we descend this particular Wadi/Canyon, the largest of which is around 60m in height. Not for the faint hearted. You will then zig zag down and through the wadi, scramble around huge boulders and walk across exposed rock bed plates through the 'boulder garden'. There are a couple of more abseils right at the end of the Wadi/Canyon which finishes in a final 50m abseil down a smooth, dry waterfall. From here it is only a 10 minute walk back to the road where the vehicles are parked. Hat or cap: To protect you from the effects of the sun, stop you cooking your brains & keep you looking young? Sunglasses: To protect your eyes from the UV rays and dust particles. T-Shirt or long sleeved shirt: Breathable/moisture/sweat wicking/quick drying - LIGHT WEIGHT. Light colours are usually best. Shorts or long trousers: Breathable/moisture/sweat wicking/quick drying - NO JEANS OR DENIM Sports Trainers/Hiking Shoes: You will definitely need good hiking shoes for this one with lots of grip on the soles. Preferably with ankle support. Back Pack: You will need a small, back pack style (two padded shoulder straps) bag to carry your water, snacks phone/charger in for the day. Water: You must bring a minimum of 3 LITRES of water: You will need a lot of water to stay hydrated & fully functioning. Safety for you & your fellow hikers is our top priority. Electrolytes: Any from of electrolyte is good - You do not need High Energy Drinks. Food: Bring your own food &snacks. You know what you like best. Healthy, low sugar- high carbohydrate snacks are usually best. Medical Form: Complete the form & Inform instructor of medical issues.
